Where to invest in the fashion industry (investors’ Guide)

The fashion industry is currently overwhelmed by the mushrooming of new technology and hence it is experiences social and technological revolution. In this Era, Fashion no longer exist as a brick and mortar industry it is now a tsunami of great talents and visionary entrepreneurs with fresh new ideas and trends that break the internet. If you are thinking of ways to make money work for you, then investing in the fashion industry would be a great start. Coming into this crazy industry is not an easy thing as you may need to be ready to risk it all given the ups and downs of the industry. Before you put your money in any fashion business as an investor make sure all these questions are answered by the business you are willing to be part of.

1. Does the company have an innovative and disruptive business model aimed at revolutionizing the fashion and luxury industry?

A business model is the soul of the business itself. It should be clear and precise on how the business will be conducted, who will be in charge of what and how cash will be flowing in the business.

2. Is the company backed with experience, skillful and motivated entrepreneurial team?

If not, run away as fast as you can or else you will watch your money be burned just like that. Question about the team’s ability to run the business, ask who will be in charge of what and what is their background? Schedule for a meeting with the team so that you can gauge their abilities. Do an outdoor meeting where you can take them for lunch or a drink. This kind of environment will ease them up and they will be free to talk and chat with you and it here where you will know if they can really get the job done unlike in formal meetings where sometimes they are uptight and only tell you things that you want to hear.

3. Has the company embraced technology in terms of social-mobile-e commerce systems?

Companies grow and fall all thanks to systems put in place. We are in an era where people want to visit your shop not physically but online, they want to interact with you and need feedback there and then and once they purchase their favorite item through a click or a tap, they want it delivered right where they are. If systems are not put in place to take care of such a situation, please tell your money sleep peacefully in the bank.

4. Does it have a Digital marketing systems solution?

We are in the digital world right now and if the company is still operating in the 90’s way, don’t blink twice. You will sit for a thousand years waiting on your return on investment. Marketing is one the core business operations of any given business and if done the digital way, money will follow you wherever you go. Promoting the company’s page and products on social medias like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. is more cheap and convenient that putting it on billboards which are not so cost friendly.

5. What is the financial health of the company? Can it withstand stormy days?

This is very crucial and essential aspect of any business. A healthy financial status equals a healthy and wealthy business. Simple as that.

6. Does the brand have a global appeal and audience?

Any company has the potential of making millions of Dollars even Trillions. It just a matter of what length and heights the company is willing to take. A fashion house like Chanel or Versace are known worldwide thanks to their niche and global audience.

If the above questions have been fully confirmed to your satisfaction, then there is no time to linger. Put your money (not all of it) into the business and watch your money grow.
